When we talk about books we talk about excitement and impacts it does in the lives of our kids.
Let's look at picture books.
Picture books are commonly used to describe a book,most often written for children, in which the content is conveyed through use of words.
Types of picture books
Board books:
Are meant for youngest readers. They have cardboard pages.It's recommended for birth-2years.

It introduce children to a theme such as alphabet, counting, colours or shapes.
Recommended for ages 2-8years.

Easy Readers:-
Known as early readers,limited vocabularies are structured and they are easy to read. It's recommended for 4-7years.
Examples are:-The cat in the hat by Dr.Seuss.
Frog and toad are friends by Arnold Lobel.
There is a bird on the head by Mo Williams.
Non Fiction Books:-
This introduce children to new subjects in a simple way.Its recommended for ages 8-10years.
Example is:-Wangari Trees of peace by Jeanette Winter.
These type of books,the stories are told completely by pictures.Is for ages 2-10years.
Examples are:-The snowman by Raymond Briggs.
Flotsam by David Wiesner.
Do you want to be my friend by Eric Carle.
HOW DO PICTURE BOOKS HELP A CHILD READ.
When you read with a child it creates a bond.Research shows that children should be involved in the process of reading a book.Allow the child to talk about things in the book by asking questions and helping to describe want they see.
These are some ways to help them better
*Vocabulary:-Knowing the names of things.
*Narrative Skills:-The ability to tell their own stories.
*Letter Identification:-Knowing difference between the letters by their shapes and sounds.
A child is more likely to become a reader if he reads books that address his passions and concerns.As children begin to read in their own,they get more excited.
These are quick ways to help your children reading level.
√ Pick a page and have the child read through.
√ Have the child hold out a finger to point every word when reading.
√Make sure the child can understand what she reads.
